It's no secret that I have an obsession healthy and totally normal appreciation of saddle pads.
I worked through the whole 'design your saddle pad' and actually managed to choose options. I then hit 'buy' and the deed was done.
That was back in July. I waited for it to be delivered.
And waited.
You see, once you pay they then make it and then ship it. With a name 'Hufglocken' I thought it would be made in Europe. Nope, it was Australia.
A few weeks ago I had notice that it was ready to be shipped. It probably took at least 2 weeks. But Friday it arrived.

TaDah! It looks like a smoking jacket! |
Carmen: at least it's not a torture device this time |
In our ride today I noted that the saddle pad stayed in place. I may or may not have found myself stroking the sheepskin often (it's sooooo soft).
And Carmen was a dream. For the ride she didn't argue with me once. It was a great ride and she was lovely.
Clearly it's not just a pretty pad, it's a MAGICAL PAD that turned Carmen into a lovely unicorn. (I mean it couldn't be that I rode well, right?).
Do you think it lives up to the hype?
ReplyDeleteI love saddle pads, but I haven't yet sprung for some of the pricier ones. Back on track is as fancy as I've gotten...
But I've looked at these and the Le Mieux and find myself wondering. I mean my horse isn't sound yet, so there's that aspect too that is curbing my shopping habit at the moment.
It’s hard to know until I see how it holds up. But it definitely kept the pad in place and seems to fit well. I like the Lemieux too because of they have bamboo lining that is great for sweat. They do hold up nicely.
DeleteThat looks GORGEOUS on her - and FWIW, you order from Australia but the pads are made in Europe, sent to Australia, and then sent to you, which is why they take so freaking long ๐๐๐ I love the two I got back in 2020 but the insane wait frustrated me!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the magical pad turned Carmen into a unicorn though! ๐
Really?! Ok that’s even weirder than I thought. The wait was a bit frustrating but if I love it than I might order more knowing that.
DeleteIt's really a nice saddle pad and looks great on Carmen. I might try it for Rosie since she is wither challenged with a round barrel too. I was looking at the Le Mieux too.
ReplyDeleteMost dressage pads are made for WB/ TB types with more wither. Fashion horse has nice pads too and are in the US.
DeleteI'm a big Mattes fan! The one you designed is gorgeous, and looks beautiful on Carmen!
ReplyDeleteI can see why- you can design a pad to match your boots. ๐
Deleteit's beautiful :')
ReplyDeletefor real tho, i LOVE saddle pads, but i also have way way WAY too many... and just recently basically gave them ALL away to the kids that helped clean my trailer last week... and.... it feels kinda good? lol....
Yes, because it makes room for MORE SADDLE PADS. Lol.
DeleteOh, it is gorgeous! It looks magical. I am the same way about tack.❤️
ReplyDeleteThank you. I am glad I’m not alone. ๐
DeleteVery pretty!
ReplyDeleteOne can never have too many saddle pads! Truth!
ReplyDeleteI only have 3. Clearly I need to shop for more!
Only 3? How do you survive?! Lol
DeleteVery pretty! Nothing wrong with a little magic!
ReplyDeleteWe can all use a little magic in our lives.
DeleteBeautiful magic saddle pad! Carmen is probably loving how good she looks in it ;)
ReplyDeleteIt feels like cheating given that she's a gray but she does look good in it.
DeleteI have the same problem with Avalon! She has flat Arabian withers and a round barrel so typically my girth slips too far forward and saddle pad slips too far back. This might be a good option for us!
ReplyDeleteI am quite impressed with it so far.
DeleteI was pretty happy my last vet check when the vet gave me permission to throw out and replace my older saddle pads in the interest of my horse's back =) But it was still a little hard throwing them out even though they are getting worn! (Yeah, I may be a hoarder...)
ReplyDeleteI love magic ;) <3
