Carmen's surgery coincided with some really crappy weather. It's literally been dreary and raining for the past week. We did have torrential rain but we were not hit as badly as other areas where road washed out. Fortunately, it wasn't as bad as BC.
Some updates:
In exciting news my book is now live on Amazon: Riding Through It. Those who ordered an andvanced copy will get those as soon as I get them and can send/deliver them.
1. Share the link to the book on your social media (blog, IG, FB) and insert the link.
2. share with me how horses have helped you in the comments (if you don't have a horse, share a story about another animal).
I've extended the draw to Dec 2.
Carmen is doing really really well since her surgery. She hasn't been scratching it (yet) and it's healing up beautifully. Once her ears are not tender I will be able to bridle her.
I made a huge withdrawal from the trust bank with the surgery and I will with the stitches removal. So I've been spending my time putting some more deposits in. I spend time grooming and scratching her. Also randomly going out in the field and giving her treats.
I saw on the news you got rain and flooding too, glad you're OK and it wasn't super severe. Carmen's ear looks so good! Congrats on the book, I'm going to order it as a christmas treat. Guinness is the best farm dog :)
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to complain when we see the devastation out west but everything is saturated. We're getting more today and I'm worried about the areas that had major flooding before.
Deletethank you for ordering the book. :)
Glad the rain wasn't too terrible by you! Heading over to order myself the book! Congrats on being published! So exciting!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad too but would be really happy to have a stretch of sun, even if it's cold. Thank you for odering the book.
DeleteGood thing you didn't get as much rain as the West Coast- they are getting hit again. It isn't too terrible here on the eastern side of BC but it's still a muddy mess. The worst part is all the damage to infrastructure that will take time and a lot of money and labour to remedy.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty exciting to be a published author - congratulations! Sharing the link to my blog.
Throught the years, horses have been the only constant in my life. I come from a family that had to move a lot according to where there was work, so we never stayed anywhere more than 3 years, and the same is true for my married life. Only now, we seem to have settled in this beautiful valley where we have been since 2009. Loving horses is the one thing I have held onto throughout all those troublesone years of youth and gives meaning to my aging years. They truly are a blessing from God in my life.
It must have been difficult (even though it was probably also exciting) to move so much. I'm glad you have roots now and that, before that, the horses kept you grounded.
DeleteI’m excited to get the book and read all the stories. We’ve had bad weather, too. On top of that, I came down with a bad virus. It was respiratory, so I took 2 Covid tests, but it wasn’t Covid. Whatever it is, I don’t recommend it.
ReplyDeleteUgh, to all viruses! I hope you are feeling better now.
DeleteAw Guinness <3 here’s hoping Carmen continues to heal well and easily! I feel like sometimes they understand that the crappy things we do to them occasionally are for their own good (or at least, I hope!). Congrats again on the book omg
ReplyDeleteIsn't he hilarious? I agree, I think that they sometimes do understand. And thanks about the book.
DeleteShe will come around and y'all will be back to your normal soon (which from your most recent post, you are!). They are so much more in tune with themselves than we are. The blessing of the weather was to give her time enough to heal! <3
