Cranky

No not Carmen.

How could you think such a thing?
It's me.

Winter has decided to have one last hurrah and it's putting a serious crimp in my plans. The lesson I had booked today had to be cancelled.

Stupid weather keeping me from this

I've tried to get to Karen's but weather and other commitments have gotten in the way.

Bleh.

Today I thought I might be able to squeeze a ride in between the snow but it started to rain around 8 and then turned to snow.

So I made cookies.

Ginger cookies for the humans
Because nothing says 'I give up and I'm just going to get fat -so screw you winter' like baking cookies.

And since I don't want to get fat all by myself I decided to try baking cookies for the ponies.

I know that it just looks like hamburger but it's  basically oats,
carrots and molasses.

Based on taste testing I would say that they were a hit.

Of course, I also discovered that the fridge in my tack room is kaput.

Sigh.

I didn't just make cookies and get fat- I also took the dogs for a walk in the woods. Guinness' come is really coming.

Spring is coming, I know.

Just hurry up please.

    1. He is a good dog. We had a bit of an issue of 'I'll come when I want' but we seem to have worked through it.

  3. The cookies definitely were a bit! They'd probably like the ginger cookies too. (Mine like pretty well any kind of cookie they are offered - horse or human.)

  6. The weather here sucks too. Hopefully, Spring will arrive soon and melt the 20 something inches of snow we got over the last two weeks with more on the way!

  7. Wet rain/snow is the worst! We still have a couple feet of snow here. The idea of actually seeing the ground seems far away :P

    1. Every glove and mitten I own is sodden. We had very little snow this winter so this is a bit of a slap in the face!

  11. Ginger cookies are very popular with our horses -- but I'll have to try the horse ones you made. I'm sure that they would be even more popular. What a good boy Guinness is -- and how adorable with snow on his face.

    1. I tried out the ginger cookies last night- they were deemed 'okay' but they both preferred the horse cookies.

  12. This weather is gross. It won’t stop raining. I can handle cold (well kinda) but 49 and raining is awful.

  13. We finally got some winter weather, lots of rain every week. It means more canceled lessons but I dunno I'm strangely ok with it (probably because I like rain!)

    1. I will say that San Diego rain and March rain in Canada are two very different beasts. The whole winter have been very very gray- I don't mind rain/fog but this is a bit much.
