I landed on my feet with the reins still in my hands, too, but that was about 7 years ago, and I was younger. You should pat yourself on the back for that one! I'm so glad you got back on, because it sounds like it scared her more than you. Extra bonus points for getting out and riding in it though.Jodihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16560432669562291616noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8459505622378142466.post-43825599349364427602015-12-20T16:59:31.351-04:002015-12-20T16:59:31.351-04:00Good job landing on your feet. I'd totally tie some plastic bags around if she's that concerned by them.Olivia @ DIY Horse Ownershiphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16138490796669110523noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8459505622378142466.post-64948441343509779332015-12-20T13:00:33.219-04:002015-12-20T13:00:33.219-04:00That cartoon is perfect. Tying some to a fence isn't a bad idea; she can get used to flapping bags not attached to a human.Oak Creek Ranchhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02875705582058188289noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8459505622378142466.post-26826026198019828602015-12-20T11:59:48.080-04:002015-12-20T11:59:48.080-04:00My gelding used to have a thing about plastic bags...My gelding used to have a thing about plastic bags in trees - never threw me over it but there was a lot of balking & angst & prancing & gnashing of the bit. Fair to say that it caused him a lot of worry.
We have a couple of areas that we use temporary fence part of the year so to make sure they notice when the fence goes up, I tied plastic bags on the wire every 5'. Then, just for good measure, I went & tied some more into the trees where the horse like to stand & keep an eye on the feeders.
Didn't take long before a flapping plastic bag didn't even raise an eyebrow.

Mrs Shoeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02636736944375337989noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8459505622378142466.post-1700171026888085442015-12-20T09:57:42.089-04:002015-12-20T09:57:42.089-04:00You sure handled that well:)You sure handled that well:)The Dancing Donkeyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16274299120708749101noreply@blogger.com
